About Us

We are all about your vision

Honest, Caring, and technology advanced eye care.

Background

What’s in a name? At Integrity Eye, our name signifies our purpose of always putting our patient’s interests first.  We are here to skillfully take care of you and your family and provide honest, compassionate, and technologically advanced eye care.  Our practice does not pressure patients into elective upgrades at the time of surgery and is not owned by a private equity company whose primary concern is answering to their investors. Our practice is here to build patient relationships based on integrity.

Integrity Eye was founded in North San Diego County over 35 years ago as Hidden Valley Eye Associates.  Dr. Howard Krausz, MD, PhD opened his practice with the goal of providing the highest quality patient centered care.  Since then Integrity Eye Associates has evolved, but we have not forgotten our core principles.  We provide comprehensive eyecare for conditions such as glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration. We are leaders in cataract surgery and other advanced surgeries such as corneal transplants, refractive surgery, and complex eyelid surgery.  We only make diagnostic and treatment recommendations based on accepted standards of care, not anticipated insurance or patient payments.  Our goal is to work collaboratively with our patients, educating them about possible medical and surgical treatments, while respecting and encouraging their ability to make their own choices.

Service Activity

Every day our office attempts go above and beyond for our patients and their health needs. However, we also appreciate that many people in the US and around the world do not have access to healthcare. Specifically, in the US many people still do not have health insurance and globally many people don’t have access to skilled ophthalmic surgeons. Therefore, we try to help. Our practice partners with two charities that help patients without healthcare.

The first program is the “EyeCare America Program”. This program is through the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). It was started in 1985, and since then more than 1.8 million no-cost eye exams have been provided in the US. If you go to the program website, https://www.aao.org/eyecare-america. You can register and see if you qualify for the program. The AAO also offers a medication assistance program to help patients who do not have medication coverage, or have health insurance that has very high out of pocket expenses for medications (https://www.aao.org/eyecare-america/resources/medication-assistance)

We also partner with a San Diego non-profit program called “Champions for Health”, which was founded in 2004 by the San Diego County Medical Society. The programs goal is to help patients with low-income or no health insurance gain access to needed examinations and surgeries. We partner with a local surgery center that allows us to provide no-cost surgery to patients in the program, and Dr. Saini donates his surgery at no-cost. To see if you qualify for the program and assistance you have to register with Champions for Health

Lastly, both Dr. Krausz and Dr. Saini have participated in surgical missions abroad where they have provided free surgery. Dr. Krausz has traveled to Mexico and Dr. Saini has traveled to the Philippines, India, and Myanmar. When Dr. Saini was in Wisconsin, he worked with the Lions Club and the Wisconsin Academy of Ophthalmology to organize the first Lions Mission trip to Myanmar. During that trip Dr. Saini and the 3 other ophthalmologists that participated performed over 200 free cataract surgeries. Dr. Saini plans on resuming international outreach/surgical missions when his children are older, as this was a primary reason that he went into the field of ophthalmology.

You're in good hands….
