. . .

Low Vision Trainer Optometrist

Dr. Peter DeGraziano is a Low Vision trained optometrist and is a fellow of the International Academy of Low Vision Specialists (IALVS).  He is passionate about helping patients suffering with vision loss.  Through the use of specialized custom eyeglasses, devices, and vision therapy, Dr. DeGraziano helps Low Vision patients enjoy activities which have become difficult or impossible because of sight-limiting diseases (such as Macular Degeneration). With his help, many of Dr. DeGraziano’s patients are able to achieve goals such as reading, watching TV, and even safely driving automobiles.

Dr. DeGraziano was the recipient of several scholarships for his graduate studies, including a full academic scholarship from the United States Navy.  He attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where he completed four clinical externships with concentrations in: diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, refractive surgery and pre- and post-operative care, pediatric eye care, and primary care.  In 2001, he obtained a Doctorate in Optometry, graduating with Academic Honors.  Thereafter, he proudly served as an officer and optometrist in the Navy.  He feels privileged to have been trained in Low Vision care by the founder and president of the International Academy of Low Vision Specialists (IALVS) and is honored to have the opportunity to work with and enhance the lives of patients with vision loss.

When not working, Dr. DeGraziano enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.  For exercise, he swims, hikes, and bikes beautiful San Diego County.

Dr. DeGraziano is committed to finding ways to improve his patients’ vision and invites anyone with Low Vision to call and discuss their situation.
