INSURANCE & PAYMENT INFORMATION

For both adults and children alike, eye exams are an important part of one’s general health maintenance and assessment. Your eyes should be checked regularly to ensure that you are able to see as best as possible.

Insurances Accepted

We accept Medicare, PPO, HMO, vision plans, and have cash payment options.  Our insurance coordinators deal with many insurance companies and we are happy to answer questions and assist you in any way possible. However, we cannot guide you in your choice of insurance coverage.

Because many employers frequently change insurance policies, it is sometimes difficult to accurately estimate a patient’s insurance coverage and co-payment. Many insurance companies cannot guarantee coverage for a visit until after the visit is completed. As a courtesy, we ask that you keep us informed of any change in your insurance. It is important that all information is current.

Insurances Accepted

All co-payments are payable when you check in at the front desk.  We also do collect co-payments for all post-operative appointments.

Vision Plans

Vision plans typically cover routine annual exams, including exams for glasses and contacts.  Typically, medical problem with the eye beyond a need for glasses are covered not by vision plans but by medical plans, such as HMO, PPO, and Medicare plans.

We accept VSP, MES, Eyemed and Spectera vision plans for routine eye exams, glasses or contact lenses.

HMO Patients

We participate with Arch Health Partners, Sharp Community Medical Group, Inland North and Scripps Health, Escondido.  Patients,

Please contact your primary care physician for referral to any specialist, including our office.  Obtaining a medical referral is a patient’s responsibility. We cannot obtain a referral for your first visit.  If you do not have a referral, we will be happy to see you on a cash basis, but your medical insurance company will not pay for your visit or treatment.

We will request authorization for all follow up visits and tests, as needed related to your first referred visit to our office.

Medicare Patients

As a courtesy we bill your secondary insurance for any deductible and co-insurance. If you have no secondary insurance, you are responsible for any deductible and co-insurance.  If Medicare denies your office visit or procedure, you are responsible for the charges. We do bill your secondary insurance as a courtesy.

Non-Insured or Out of Network Patients

We understand that not everyone has insurance and healthcare can be very expensive.  We offer fair cash price options for those patients who do not have insurance for initial and follow up appointments.

Private & Group Insurance

As a courtesy, we will file your insurance claims for you. Upon receipt of an insurance payment, any balance due will be billed to you. If you have any questions, please ask our staff. They are well informed and up-to-date on all matters of Insurances that we contract with.
